On any of your browsers, visit the American Airlines website.
Select the AAdvantage option and now, you will be redirected to the login page.
Enter the AAdvantage number, last name of the use, and Password of the account.

Navigate to the booking section and enter all the required reservation details.

Here, you will obtain the details of the elite service desk number, at which you need to call.
Talk to the live person and request for the American Airlines seat upgrade via SWUs.
If the upgrade is unavailable, then your request will be put on hold. If your request is not entertained by the airline until 48 hours before departure, then you will be put on a standby list at the Airport. You will get an upgrade which is subject to the availability on the desired flight.
You can also use the System-wide upgrade for seat upgrade for the existing American Airlines reservations just by calling the elite service help desk of the airline.
